Ar Tonelico 2 : Melody of Metafalica

The "Sea of Death" covers the planet and the vast sky around it. 
There was a tower amongst the clouds. 
On the top of it, there was a flat, artificial land that the people lived upon. 
It was a small world facing a crisis of structural collapse. 
The people dreamed of a legendary utopia, a fertile and beautiful land, created by singing a Song in the Hymnos language, called Metafalica. They tried to sing this song several times, but every time they did so, the Goddess hampered their attempt. 
The world was under the control of the Goddess. 
The people were forced to live hopeless lives. 
One day, however, a new political organization called the Grand Bell brought the people a new hope. Chancellor Alfman, the leader of the new goverment, agitated the people into a declaration of war against the Goddess and promised the people that they would create the utopia, 
Metafalica, by their own hands. 
The Goddess or the humans. 
Who would be the next ruler of the world? 
And, can the humans achieve their dream of creating a paradise, the green uptopia M

Ar Tonelico 2 main characters :

Name: Croix Bartel
Age: 18
Height: 172 cm
Weight: 58kg 

Croix is the main character of the game and the one character you will always have in your party. At the beginning of the game he is a promising knight in the Grand Bell. As a knight of the Grand Bell his duty is to contain Reyvateil with I.P.D. Pretty early in the game Croix finds himself in a situation where he must protect Cloche Leythal Pastalia, a Reyvateil and leader of the Grand Bell. Though, Cloche is not too happy with this situation. 

At a young age Croix was adopted by Reisha - Luca's mother - thus he has spent most of his life living with the two. However, at one point he migrated to Pastalia in order to become a knight. In Pastalia he met with Cocona, whom he began living with. Croix only sees Cocona as a "little sister," though, so nothing goes on between the two. 

Generally, Croix wears his Grand Bell armor, however, in towns and the sort Croix wears casualwear, including a pair of glasses.

Name: Cloche Leythal Pastalia
Age: 17
Height: 165 cm


Cloche is the goddess maiden and the leader of the Grand Bell. She is very strong, outspoken, and boss. When she first meets with Croix she seems rather snobby and uptight - she bosses Croix and the others around and condems their ideals. 

The people of Pastalia look up to Cloche. They see her as some sort of savior who will defy the Goddess and bring them a great deal of prosperity. 

Cloche is a Reyvateil, thus she will take up that role when she is in the party.

Name: Luca Trulyworth

Age: 19
Height: 157 cm


Luca is the young girl whom Croix had grown up with in Reisha's house. Needless to say, the two of them get along very well and see each other as childhood friends. 

She is very cheerful and outgoing. Currently she works as a dive therapist in Rakshek. A dive therapist is a Reyvateil whom allows others to enter their soulspace (mind) in order to comfort or help the particular person. It goes without saying that she is a Reyvateil. 

Her mother is Reisha and the two of them currently live together. However, for some reason Luca seems to think that Reisha hates her, thus the two of them do not get along very well. Luca tries to stay out of Reisha's way and hardly speaks to her. 

Luca has spread some rumors around Rakshek that her and Croix are engaged. 

Name: Jacqli  
Age: ?? 
Height: 153 cm 
Weight: 34 kg  

She refers to herself as Jacqli. She is a pureblood Reyvateil, which are the most powerful of all Reyvateil. She came to Metafalica in order to find a way to restore the world after a certain event in the game. 

Name: Cocona Bartel 
Age: 11 
Height: 130 cm  

Cocona is Croix's little sister, though the two of them are not related by blood. She lives with Croix and shares a very close brother-sister relationship with him. She even has a nickname for him, that being "Cro." She fights alongside Croix in battle using her physical strength, however, she is actually a Reyvateil, but is unable to manifest her power as one. 

Name: Leglius Branchesca 
Age: 38 
Height: 191 cm 
Weight: 93 kg  

Leglius is Croix's superior and Commander. He is the leader of the Grand Bell Knights. He is very tough and commanding, though deep down he has a very good heart and wishes for nothing more than the best for those around him. He has sworn to protect Cloche and tries to make sure everything goes smoothly for her.  

When Amarie joins the party, Leglius becomes a bit suspicious of her and always keeps an eye on her. He also seems to somehow know Luca's mother, Reisha 

Name: Amarie Gelade 

Age: 20 
Height: 168 cm  

At the beginning of the game Amarie can be seen following the party around from destination to destination. However, she eventually collapses in the middle of a forest due to hunger. The party, of course, comes across her. Luca gives her some food and Amarie returns to normal and forces her way into your party. 

Name: Shun

Age: 746 

A strange creature that somewhat resembles a dog or a dragon. This character randomly appears throughout the beginning of the game, calling himself a Servant of God and condeming the actions of the party. He seems as if he is a major enemy of yours. However, later on in the game by some chance he becomes Croix and the gang's adviser, helping them out and battling with them.
